Youth Entrepreneurship Workshop Graduates 30 Young Cameroonians

Thirty young Cameroonians have successfully graduated from the latest cohort of the CAbyYouths Entrepreneurship Workshop — a six-week intensive programme designed to equip youth with the practical business skills needed to create their own economic opportunities.

The graduation ceremony, held in Yaoundé, was attended by local business leaders, government representatives, and family members who celebrated the graduates' achievement.

What the Programme Covers

The workshop covers every stage of the entrepreneurship journey: ideation and market research, business plan development, financial management, sales and marketing, digital tools for business, and pitching to investors. Each week combines classroom learning with hands-on exercises and one-on-one mentoring from experienced entrepreneurs.

This cohort included participants from backgrounds including agriculture, fashion, technology, food processing, and creative arts — reflecting the diverse economic landscape of Cameroon's youth population.

Seed Funding Awards

In a highlight of the ceremony, five participants received seed grants from the CABY Youth Business Fund — awards ranging from 150,000 to 350,000 CFA francs to help launch their business ideas. Recipients presented business plans to a panel of judges and were selected based on viability, social impact, and the entrepreneur's commitment and readiness.

One recipient plans to launch an urban farming micro-enterprise supplying vegetables to Yaoundé restaurants. Another is opening a mobile repair and accessories shop targeting university students.
